The airport is approximately 4 km from the historical centre
of the city of Pisa, located at the “Pisa Aeroporto” exit of
the Firenze–Pisa–Livorno (SGC FI-PI-LI) superstrada or
freeway, and the A12 Genova-Rosignano autostrada or motorway.
The city centre can be reached from the airport in just few
minutes:
• by trains, connecting the railway terminal of the airport
with “Pisa Centrale” station;
• by bus, an urban line (LAM Rossa) (see
the map) connects the airport to the “Pisa Centrale”
station and the centre of Pisa every 10 minutes. The urban
bus terminal is located at the arrival side of the airport
exit;
• by taxi, the taxi rank is also found at the airport exit -
on the arrivals side. The Radio Taxi service (24 h) operates
in the city of Pisa, telephone +39-050-541600;

• Bike:
Thanks to its compact size, the concentration of the places
of interest in the historical centre and the plentiful
pedestrian areas, the city is ideally set for sightseeing on
foot. The bicycle is an equally good value and alternative
means of transport. Long used by locals and the numerous
university students, the success of various bike and
four-wheel bicycle ventures that have been launched in the
city in recent years attest to its growing appeal amongst
tourists also.

• Boat:
Boat trips (available from May to October) offer visitors
the opportunity to admire Pisa from an unusual and
interesting viewpoint. There are two main routes: the

the historical centre, and the Nature Tour, that extends
westwards to the Parco di San Rossore.
